The Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna

The Department of Slavonic Studies is the world's largest research and teaching centre for Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. It enjoys the highest international reputation due to its thematic breadth in research and teaching and is one of the internationally leading research institutions in several research areas. The Department makes a particularly important contribution in a number of areas that are otherwise clearly underrepresented internationally and in German-speaking countries.

The department is located in courtyard 3 of the University Campus (Entrance 3.3).

The Campus is within easy walking distance from the following tram stops:

  • Trams 5 and 33 (tram stops Lange Gasse and Lazarettgasse)
  • Trams 43 and 44 (tram stop Lange Gasse)
  • Trams 37, 38, 40, 41 and 42 (tram stops Sensengasse and Schwarzspanierstraße)
